University of Nottingham Institute for Aerospace Technology

The Institute for Aerospace Technology at The University of Nottingham is a major centre for aerospace research. Our aerospace research base is broad: current activity involves over 50 academics and over 70 externally funded projects valued at c.£35 million. Our key research themes include advanced materials; advanced manufacturing; applied optics and NDE; electromagnetics; polymer composites; power electronics; satellite navigation technologies; structural integrity and dynamics and thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. We currently work with a range of leading aerospace firms who use our services to access our graduates, improve their innovation capacity and solve technology problems. Our new Aerospace Technology Centre, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, provides additional capacity to develop our partnerships with industry.
